Bocci is a Canadian lighting design and manufacturing company based in Vancouver and Berlin, founded in 2005 by Randy Bishop and Omer Arbel. Bishop currently handles the business side of the company while Arbel is creative director. Bocci is committed to fostering a lateral and open-ended relationship between creative direction and craft.
Based in Vancouver and Berlin, Omer Arbel cultivates a fluid position, between the fields of architecture, sculpture, invention and design. Focal themes of his work include the intrinsic mechanical, physical, and chemical qualities of materials and the exploration of light as a medium.
Bocci specialises in sculptural lighting and large light installations. They currently offer thirteen different families of ambient lighting products: 14, 16, 19, 21, 22, 28, 38, 44, 57, 73, 76, 84 & 87.
Dlight has partnered with Bocci because we believe in their core business model and of course in how uniquely the products are made. Bocci is an exclusive and sought after lighting brand that will give a project a special feel and a unique finish that cannot be matched. The products are meticulously made with sand casts and hand blown glass with electrical elements of the highest quality.
To commemorate the second anniversary of the Berlin showroom and archive, Bocci presented a comprehensive rehang of key works, creating a fresh perspective on two years of ideas, experimentation and invention. The new presentation is comprised of four large-scale installations from the 2017 collection which debuted in Milan during Salone del Mobile. These are accompanied by new sculptural interpretations based on existing works, presented in over 30 different spaces within the Bocci showroom.
