The Fit Out Awards ceremony was launched in 2012 to celebrate excellence in the execution of world-class fit-outs. This year’s awards ceremony and dinner will take place on the 27th of November at Clayton Hotel Burlington Road, Dublin. We look forward to attending this year to support many of our colleagues who’ve been shortlisted for prestigious awards in a variety of categories, including conservation, medium office, large office, healthcare and hospitality. The team at Dlight are very proud to be associated with these projects from a lighting perspective. Here’s a brief overview of some of the projects shortlisted for awards.
AIB Customer & Corporate HQ

Shortlisted for Fit Out Project of the Year – Large Office
Dlight worked with RKD and Metec as the sole lighting suppliers for both projects. Dlight offered high output, low consumption luminaires to meet the LEED requirements for this project.
To meet the LEED requirements, we selected Buck Asterisk fittings to illuminate the open space office areas. The Asterisk is a highly-efficient recessed downlighter that not only met the energy requirements but also met the aesthetic demands by fitting the colour scheme of the ceilings within those spaces.
We were also tasked to design bespoke luminaires for all of the 11 meeting & conference rooms. AIB’s new HQ workspace embodies the values of openness, collaboration and transparency to drive their mission as a customer-centric bank of change, adapting to meet a diverse range of needs of their customers.

Shortlisted for Fit Out Project of the Year – Large Office
Indeed’s operations at the docklands campus extend across some 216,000 sq ft. This new vibrant office space accommodates 600 additional staff members with new roles in Sales, Client Success, Marketing and Technology.
We supplied Rovasi Base Surface Mounted Downlights and Lightnet Matric Linear Luminaires to a number of areas within the new Capital Dock’s office space. It was essential for us to supply low energy consumption luminaires from Rovasi and Lightnet as to look toward a greener future of Ireland and this hallmark campus.

Life Science Office

Shortlisted for Fit Out Project of the Year – Large Office
We were proud to be the sole lighting suppliers to this spectacular Life Science Office in Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin. The focus of this project was to supply energy-efficient solutions that met the aesthetic demands of this modern office space.
The Life Science office is home to several departments including Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Planning, Engineering, Validation, Process Support, Packaging and many other support roles. Learn more about this project via. the Life Science Office Project Gallery.
Global Banking Corporation HQ

Fit Out Project of the Year – Medium Office
Dlight were engaged as specifiers by RKD Architects and later by Jones Group to deliver a complete lighting package, including emergency lighting. The new 37,000 sq ft space on Molesworth Street will act as a central hub for their activity across Europe. Fit Out Project of the Year – Medium Office
Our lighting consultants worked alongside CBRE Interior Architect Patrick Wilding, DMG Engineering and T&I Fitouts to develop a lighting plan that met the requirements of both the client and the end-user. This revitalised 17,000 sq/ft office has been fitted-out with lighting from several high-end manufacturers.

Fit Out Project of the Year – Small Office (Winner)
The BPFI is the voice of banking and payments in Ireland, representing over 70 domestic and international institutions, enabling them to build competitive, sustainable businesses which support customers, the economy and society. The new headquarters located on the third floor of No. 1 Molesworth Street spans across 8,000 sq/ft of prestigious office space.

Athy Library

Shortlisted for Fit Out Project of the Year – Conservation
Located in the former Dominican church, is the new library in Athy town that opened on the 3rd of May 2018 to the delight of the local community. This project is now shortlisted for two awards – Fit Out Project of the Year – Public Sector and also Fit Out Project of the Year – Conservation.
This €3.75m project was funded by Kildare County Council and the Irish Government. The building has been completely transformed from the former Dominican Church into a modern, inviting and inspiring place for community members to enjoy.
The lighting design on this project focused on meeting the diverse needs of the community members of Athy by creating an atmosphere that was suitable to act as a hub for education, cultural, information and civic engagement services.

Shortlisted for Fit Out Project of the Year – Healthcare.
Another project that we are very proud to be a part of in terms of lighting supply. After working on numerous healthcare projects, we have determined what works best from an operational and energy efficiency standpoint. We supplied low-consumption fittings from Rovasi, Lightnet and Buck Lighting to meet the diverse needs of this type of application. We also provided a number of Buck Vihor fittings to illuminate the external areas of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Shortlisted for Project of the Year – Hospitality
Situated in the heart of the Liberties on Mill Street, Dublin 8, the Aloft Hotel is a tech-savvy, 10,000 sq m 204-bed four-star hotel. The design is cutting-edge and is considered to be one of the top hotels in Ireland with a LEED Gold rating. Dlight were proud to supply lighting from Artemide, Foscarini, Santa & Cole and Tala.
