Winner of Fit Out Project of the Year – Public Sector
Located in the former Dominican church, the new library in Athy town was opened on the 3rd of May 2018.
This €3.75m project was jointly funded by Kildare County Council and the Irish Government. This building has been completely transformed from the former Dominican Church into a modern, inviting and inspiring place for community members to enjoy.
Dlight was tasked with the lighting design and supply for this particular project. Our design was focused on meeting the diverse needs of the community members of Athy by creating an atmosphere that was suitable to act as a hub for education, cultural, information and civic engagement services.
We used the Lightnet Ringostar G1 with direct light distribution across the main areas of the library.
